KHVT is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the construction of free public skateboard parks in the St. Louis, Mo. area, and to promoting skateboarding as a fun, healthy activity for both youths and adults.

KHVT was founded in support of the Kinghighway D.I.Y. skatespot, built between 2009 and 2015 by local skateboarders under the South Kinghshighway viaduct. When "the bridge" was demolished in July 2015, St. Louis was left with no free public skateparks. Since then, KHVT has built one new park, the Peter Mathews Memorial Skate Garden, and is working to create even more. Donations of time, labor, materials and money are welcome!

Skateboarders with Vigilance

It has been brought to my attention recently the fact of non vigilant skaters roaming under the bridge. I am pooling my energy to get these unknowing rippers some ideas on skatepark building etiquette. Here are some points which may help the current situation at the building site; KHVT, understanding these points will help bring together the awesome force of the St. Louis skateboarding community:

- This is every ones spot to skate and create.
- KHVT is for having positive fun.
- When there is someone working please consider:
1. It is impolite not to offer to help in some way.
2. It is disrespectful not to offer your help, and to sk8 instead.

Respect these common senses and there will be a healthy environment. Get to know the "trolls" under the bridge and communicate thoughts, ideas, and insight to help make this spot even more awesome! I will be posting random stuff here on this blog remotely, waiting to return for more work there. I am thankful for the Skateboarders with Vigilance, KHVT LIVES! -Soup
